Felix Economakis
US ARFID Intensive Retreat

Young adults — Ages 18‐25

26th March ‐ 29th March 2026

About the event

If your child feels trapped by fear or resistance around food, you've probably tried everything — rewards, reassurance, patience, even pressure — and nothing seems to help.

This retreat is designed for parents who want to give their young adult a chance to experience lasting change, guided by the world's leading ARFID specialist.

Across 3.5 days, psychologist Felix Economakis will guide a small group of young adults through a carefully structured programme that blends pioneering therapeutic methods, emotional-regulation tools, and live demonstrations. Each day is designed to reduce anxiety, build calm, and gently expand food confidence — in a safe, supported setting.

Parents will also gain insights into the mindset shifts and family dynamics that truly support recovery, ensuring progress continues long after the retreat ends.

What makes this retreat different?

This isn't a clinical bootcamp or a “try one bite” approach. It's a breakthrough framework that helps young adults understand what's really happening in their mind, and empowers them to change it.

Using Felix's Pioneering ARFID Protocol, the retreat helps participants:

  • Reframe food avoidance as a mind‐body response, not stubbornness or defiance.
  • Regulate emotions before tackling new foods.
  • Rebuild trust in themselves and the eating process.
  • Experience positive progress, not pressure.

Every activity and session is built around safety, understanding, and empowerment, the three ingredients proven to unlock change.

What your young adult will learn

  • The ARFID Protocol ‐ a new, evidence-based approach to transformation.
  • Mastering the Mind ‐ how thoughts and beliefs can support change instead of resisting it.
  • Understanding Resistance ‐ defiance, passivity, avoidance, and autopilot explained.
  • Emotional Regulation ‐ techniques to find calm and confidence in anxious moments.
  • Sensory Processing & Desensitisation – practical tools to make foods less overwhelming.
  • Family Dynamics at Mealtimes ‐ how pressure, patterns, and energy at the table keep old struggles alive.
  • Pattern Interruption Techniques ‐ quick, simple methods to ease distress and reset.
  • Comorbidities Explained ‐ overlaps with OCD, social anxiety, and emetophobia
  • Live Demonstrations ‐ watch Felix's methods in real time.
  • The Power of Imagination ‐ how creative thinking can be used to heal, not hinder.
  • Essential Life Lessons ‐ self-soothing, problem-solving, and healthy focus.
  • Personalised Coaching ‐ 20–30 minute one-to-one sessions for tailored breakthroughs.
  • Who this retreat is for

  • Parents of young adults (18‐25) struggling with ARFID.
  • Families looking for an approach that's gentle yet effective, focused on mindset and emotional safety.
  • Young adults who want to overcome avoidance, anxiety, or distress around food — at their own pace, with expert support.

No prior therapy experience is required — only readiness to learn and grow.
